CP-WEB Financial Information System

The Financial Information System provides all the information gathered by financial control, such as reports, graphics, analysis results and statistics, removing the need for users to learn a new program, as the results are displayed in the familiar setting of a web browser. The most modern web technologies allow all reports and additional information to be clearly and professionally displayed. As an option, the company's own Corporate Design can be integrated into the Financial Information System.

Information from Finance Department

The web-based reports in CP-WEB are based on the current figures from financial controlling and are always automatically updated when a change is made. Any number of management reports can be displayed or called up. Some examples are:

  • Reporting according to IAS/ IFRS, UK-GAAP and US-GAAP
  • Balance sheets
  • Financial plans
  • P&L calculations
  • Cashflow plans
  • Key ratio reports
  • Turnover reports
  • Sales statistics
  • Cost centre and cost type reports
  • Segment reports
  • Company comparisons
  • Branch comparisons
  • Consolidated Balance sheets
  • Consolidated P&L calculations
  • Consolidated financial plans
  • and many more

Web reporting - information professionally presented

There is no limit to the number of reports users of CP-WEB can create. The contents of the reports are also variable. Users can therefore construct their own reporting system flexibly and individually according to their access rights, without requiring any previous programming knowledge. The layout is predesigned, so the user does not have to devote extra time to report design. The display of a report in the web browser occurs automatically. When creating new reports, a number of templates are available to speed up the process. These are included as standard in the delivery package. Some examples are shown here.

Cumulated reports
In a cumulated report the information for a particular time interval is displayed. To choose another time span, the time slider can be used. The display adjusts automatically.
Variances are shown as absolute and relative quantities, with warning colours.
For example, to take a closer look at administration expenses, a click on the arrow is all that is needed. A drill-down to the next level is immediately carried out and displayed.

Timeline reports
The required planning scenario can be chosen directly.
In a timeline report individual time intervals (months, quarters, years, etc.) are shown. The choice of interval is made simply by clicking. A drill-down to a lower hierarchy level can also be done in this report.

Graphic reports
Another report template is used for graphic reports, with a choice of graphic types. A graphic drill-down in this configuration can also be done. The displayed tables and graphics are created in SVG format. One of the advantages of this is that the graphics are automatically adjusted to fit the resolution of the user's screen, printer or other output device without loss of quality.
Graphics can be shown as line diagrams, column diagrams, pie charts, or stacked columns. Choosing an option automatically updates the display. The user can navigate in the organisation tree; the report is immediately updated.

Segment reports
There is also a template for segment reports. These can also be displayed for any chosen time span using the time slider. The columns now contain comparable areas rather than time intervals. This is useful for the simultaneous display of branches, business areas, products, departments, etc. Comparison of business areas, branches and much more.

Comments reports
The comments report clearly displays an overview of the cell comments and field notes in the selected timespan and hierarchy levels of the data source.

Analysis on the Web - interactive and dynamic

For pro-active enterprise Controlling it is obviously not sufficient just to read information from reports. A web-based application becomes more valuable when analyses can be done dynamically and interactively. Apart from viewing the raw figures for different time spans and planning scenarios, this includes being able to carry out variance analyses. The starting point for this is, for example, a report which shows target-actual variances graphically.

Web-based planning and budgeting - Data input over the internet

The planned figures are an ever more important basis for management decisions. For planning on the web, it is important to be able to control the application through the use of access rights and user roles. These determine who can alter what planning figures in different parts of the enterprise. The planning process is an iterative interaction between Management, financial controlling, line managers, profit centre managers and so on, but is also affected by outside influences. It is therefore an extremely demanding and complex process.

Implementation and Configuration

You will receive the complete software with all the functionality required for the construction, implementation and use of an enterprise-wide, web-based Financial Information System. This includes the necessary server programs, editor programs and the desired number of web clients.

Web-design
The CP-WEB module is to be used on the company's Intranet or on the Internet. The software is delivered with a standard design. If you wish, we will adapt the design of the web solution according to your individual proposals to reflect the Corporate Design of your company. This applies to the following areas: Use of company colours and fonts Integration of company symbols/logos, etc. Adaptation of the user interface, if required.

Access Rights

You can define exactly whether a particular user or group can, for example, only "Read" or also "Write". Users can also be given individual rights for creating, deleting and running objects. This guarantees the optimal, secure flow of communications in your enterprise.
All objects in CP-WEB are allocated access rights, which are applied to users or so-called "roles" (user groups). This allows you to decide which user has which access rights to any object.
