Three questions for Alexander Falz

What was your starting point?

The head of accounting at the time still went through a great many manual steps to produce the reports and analyses in Excel and the Symphonie program. When the next generation took over, we were looking for a tool that came with a high level of flexibility, that combined reporting and corporate performance management and, above all, that could merge the data from multiple source systems rapidly.

What were your highlights?

The Business Logic Tree, i.e. the tree structure, is the ideal means of visualization. It’s simply a super idea. We’ve also found that being able to adjust the visible and active time spans so flexibly is extremely useful in our day-to-day work.

What lessons have you learned?

As good and as user-friendly as Corporate Planner is, you’re still responsible for building your own structure. The complexity becomes particularly apparent when you need to get other people involved with Corporate Planner and the structures that have been built.
